Guest Speaker - UA FO David Gill

David Gill (United, 787 FO): From Southern California to now the world.                                                                                                    

From a young age, I had aspirations of being an aviator living underneath the John Wayne traffic pattern in Costa Mesa.  My parents took me to summer airshows and gifted me WhiteWings paper airplane kits made by a Japanese designer.  Since then, I always looked up in the sky. Later, after the passing of my late mom, I joined a flying club and got my PPL, where my mentors, instructors, and examiners worked in the airlines, and pushed me to better myself as an aviator.  Culminating the journey was upgrading as a Embraer 175 Captain at Horizon Air in the state of Alaska.  Later, joining United Airlines, I now see the world as a first officer on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and am able to experience the amazing culture on this planet we call Earth. I continue to give back and help other achieve their goals…on their way to becoming the next aviator.
